Procedure for withdrawing published articles (retraction) In the event of a violation of publication ethics or suspicion of a violation, as well as if significant corrections to published materials are necessary, the editorial board considers the relevant cases, guided by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). General provisions 1.1. This procedure defines the procedure for withdrawing (retraction) articles published in the National Journal of Ukraine “Avtoshlyahovyk Ukrainy”. 1.2. The purpose of retraction is to correct the scientific record and ensure compliance with the principles of academic integrity in scientific publications. 1.3. Retraction may be initiated by authors, the journal’s editorial board, readers, or other authorized persons. Grounds for retraction of an article 2.1. Detection of plagiarism or misuse of other people’s materials. 2.2. The presence of significant errors in the study that cast doubt on the reliability of the results obtained. 2.3. Re-publication of the same material without proper reference to the previous source. 2.4. Falsification or intentional distortion of research data. 2.5. Failure to disclose a conflict of interest that may affect the interpretation of the research results. 2.6. Identification of serious violations of ethical norms during the conduct of scientific research. 2.7. Establishment of facts of unauthorized use of artificial intelligence technologies (without proper indication or justification) during the preparation of the text of the article or the creation of graphs, tables or other illustrative materials. Procedure for initiating a retraction 3.1. The person initiating the retraction submits a written application indicating the grounds for the retraction. 3.2. The application shall be accompanied by materials or evidence confirming the need to withdraw the article. 3.3. The editor-in-chief shall consider the application within five working days. Consideration of the issue of retraction 4.1. To consider the issue, the editor-in-chief forms a commission of three independent experts. 4.2. The commission conducts a comprehensive analysis of the materials of the article and the evidence provided. 4.3. The authors of the article are given the opportunity to provide their explanations on the issues raised. 4.4. The total period of consideration does not exceed 30 calendar days. Decision-making 5.1. Based on the results of the review, the commission may adopt one of the following decisions:
- reject the request for retraction;
- suggest that the authors publish corrections;
- recommend a complete retraction of the article.
5.2. The decision is made by a majority vote of the commission members. Retraction processing 6.1. In the event of a decision to retract the article:
- the article is marked as “retracted” in all versions of the journal;
- an official notice of retraction is published indicating the reasons;
- the notice contains a link to the original article.
6.2. The retraction notice must contain:
- the title “Notice of Retraction”;
- bibliographic data of the original publication;
- justification of the reasons for the retraction;
- the date the decision enters into force.
Consequences of retraction 7.1. The retracted article is stored in the journal archive with an appropriate mark. 7.2. The following are notified of the fact of retraction:
- the authors of the article;
- indexing databases;
the interested scientific community. 7.3. Information about the retraction is published in the next issue of the journal. Authors’ rights 8.1. Authors have the right to:
- receive a detailed justification for the decision on retraction;
- file an appeal against the decision of the commission;
- publish a comment on the decision on retraction.
8.2. The appeal is considered by the editor-in-chief within 14 days.
