SELF-ARCHIVING AND REPOSITORY DEPOSIT POLICY
General Provisions
1.1. The Avtoshliakhovyk Ukrayiny (the Journal) supports the principles of Open Science and encourages the dissemination of scientific results. Authors are able to independently place their manuscripts in institutional, thematic and national open access repositories.
1.2. This Policy defines which versions of manuscripts can be archived, under what conditions, and which resources are recommended for this purpose.
1.3. The Policy takes into account the SHERPA/RoMEO, COPE and Plan S approaches.
Manuscript Versions
2.1. Preprint – the original author’s version of the article before review, the author’s manuscript.
2.2. Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM) – the text after review and acceptance for publication, but without publishing design (layout, logo, final pagination).
2.3. Version of Record (VoR) – the final published version with all design elements (DOI, layout, metadata).
Self-archiving: what is allowed
3.1. Preprint (preprint, original author’s manuscript)
The author may place a preprint in any open repository or on a preprint server without restrictions and without waiting (embargo), even before submitting the article to the journal.
It is necessary to note that the material has been submitted for consideration. After publication, a link to the final version and DOI must be added.
3.2. AAM (author’s accepted manuscript)
The accepted manuscript can be placed in repositories immediately after the article is accepted for publication.
It is mandatory to:
– provide a full bibliographic description of the published article;
– indicate the DOI;
– add a note: “This is the author’s accepted manuscript. The published version is available at: [URL/DOI]”.
3.3. VoR (final published version)
Since the journal operates in open access format and uses the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, the final version of the article is allowed to be placed in any repositories without restrictions.
It is important to preserve:
– information about authorship;
– a link to the original source in the journal;
– the text of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
Recommended repositories
4.1. International platforms:
– Zenodo (https://zenodo.org) – supported by CERN, assigns DOIs;
– OSF (Open Science Framework) (https://osf.io);
– Figshare (https://figshare.com).
4.2. Institutional repositories – archives of universities and scientific institutions.
4.3. National repositories – electronic archives of Ukraine that meet OpenAIRE requirements.
Authors’ Responsibilities
5.1. When self-archiving, the author must:
– correctly cite the published version;
– not change the content of the AAM in a way that affects the conclusions;
– not use the journal’s design in unofficial versions;
– indicate the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license for the final publication.
5.2. The author is responsible for complying with these requirements when posting materials on external resources.
Support
6.1. If necessary, the editorial office provides:
– confirmation of acceptance of the article;
– AAM file with the appropriate designation.
6.2. Information for requests regarding self-archiving is posted on the journal website in the “Contacts” section.
