DOI: 10.33868/0365-8392-2025-1-282-44-55

Abstract. In order to improve the design of the variator transmission, eliminate slippage in friction variators, increase the maximum torque and expand the range of gear ratio adjustment, a justification of the feasibility of developing a new design of a stepless gear variator with teeth in the form of a body of rotation was carried out, for which a principle technical solution of the tooth and tooth placement surfaces was proposed, a prototype-model of the current model of the gear variator was developed, manufactured and tested, which proved the possibility of implementing the proposed variator gear, preliminary prospective and search studies were performed on a computer 3D model of a gear transmission with teeth in the form of bodies of rotation, their results were analyzed, which allow us to confirm the feasibility of further development of the proposed technical solution, variants of the gear ratio change mechanism were developed and the initial version of the gear reducer with teeth in the form of bodies of rotation was developed, a tooth placement scheme on a toroidal gear was proposed wheel, an initial 3D model of the design of a toothed variator transmission was developed and its main structural components were determined, a variant of possible overall dimensions of the trans-mission with a toroidal toothed variator was presented, a comparison of the proposed design of a toothed variator with known prototypes was made, and the prospects for the application of the proposed transmission scheme with a toothed variator were outlined.
When developing the proposed design of a variator transmission, structural and technological features related to reliability, durability, maintainability, interchangeability, unification, and the possibility of optimal selection of materials for component parts were taken into account.
