CHARACTERISTICS OF THE KRYVYI RIH TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE
DOI: 10.33868/0365-8392-2025-1-282-8-13

Abstract. Kryvyi Rih is one of the largest industrial centers in Ukraine, which results in a high level of technogenic environmental impact, particularly due to a significant number of motor vehicles. Intensive traffic, congestion, and a high share of freight transport contribute to air pollution, increased noise levels, and road safety risks. Consequently, there is a growing need to implement a comprehensive transport infrastructure management system to optimize traffic flow, reduce the negative environmental impact of motor vehicles, and improve the quality of life for city residents.
The proposed transport infrastructure management system includes a set of measures aimed at modernizing the road network, optimizing traffic flows, developing public transport, and promoting the use of environmentally friendly modes of transport. One of the key aspects is the introduction of intelligent transport systems (ITS), including automated traffic light control systems and real-time traffic monitoring. These measures will help reduce congestion, increase road capacity, and improve overall mobility.
Encouraging the use of electric vehicles by expanding the charging station network, providing financial incentives for owners, and introducing low-emission zones will help reduce air pollution. Additionally, the implementation of modern parking systems with differentiated tariffs and automated control will contribute to easing congestion in the central areas of the city.
The comprehensive implementation of these measures will contribute to the creation of a safer, more environmentally friendly, and efficient transport system in Kryvyi Rih. This will significantly reduce pollutant emissions, improve air quality, optimize traffic flows, and enhance the comfort of urban residents. The sustainable development of the city’s transport infrastructure will align with modern environmental and technological requirements, promote improved mobility, and ensure comfortable movement within the city.
Keywords: motor vehicles, ecology, air pollution, transport infrastructure, traffic optimization, intelligent transport systems, environmentally friendly transport.
