STUDY OF CONTROL SYSTEMS A LONG WHEELBASE SEMITRAILER FOR MANEUVERABILITY INDICATORS
DOI: 10.33868/0365-8392-2022-3-271-25-31
Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the influence of various control systems of the dolly of a semitrailer of a long-length road train on the indicators of its maneuverability. The presence of controllable links in the road train significantly complicates the analytical studies of its movement. The reason is the need to take into account the influence of a large number of factors. Considering that the road train is a means of increased danger when solving the problems of the possibility of operating controlled road trains, one of the first steps should be taken towards theoretical studies of maneuverability, the results of which will be the basis for answering many questions. A mathematical model of the movement of a long-length controlled semitrailer has been developed, taking into account its design, the number of axles, their placement along the base, the number and place of installation of the controlled axles. The combined method of turning the semi-trailer dolly is taken into account, it is possible to carry out kinematic and dynamic methods of turning by braking with different intensities of the dolly wheels in different versions. The calculation of the mathematical model was carried out in the Maple mathematical package. For the selected design of the road train, calculations were made of the maneuverability indicators when turning 90° with an external overall radius of 12.5 m, S-shaped turn, performing the “rearrangement” maneuver. It was found that for a road train with a semitrailer base of 9.0 m and a total length of 20.0 m, the fulfillment of the DIRECTIVE 2002/7/ EC requirements is possible only with a combined control method, that is, with a kinematic method of controlling the semi-trailer wheels and braking the wheels of one side.
